I am a woman who is playing life like a game of chess. Checkmate will end it all, lets see who says it first.

Khizaan

My first Urdu post. Something I wrote in 1997. I hope my Roman script is good enough.

Jhulsi jhulsi raatain hain
Bey rung-o-boo din
Ujri lal shaamein
Aaj tere bin
Umeedon k phool bhi
Akhir ko murjha gai
Mohabbat ki baharoon mein
Yeh khizaan k din
Janey kaisey aagay?

checkmate, the "texture" reminds me of Faiz

Aaj phir dard-o-gham ke dhage main
hum piro ker tere khyal ke phool

tark e ulfat ke dasht se chunn ker
aashnaee ke maho saal ke phool

teri dehleez per saja aaey
phir teri yaad per charha aaey

baandh ker aarzoo ke palle main
hijr ki raakh aur visal ke phool

there are several references and allegories that are haunting inspiring painful romantic all at the same time

for example i was fixated, albiet in my younger days with

kahbhee to subh tairay kunj-e-lab so ho aghaz
khabhee to shab sar-e-kakul say mushk-bar chalay

life spent waking upto to the passion of love and ending the day in its fragrance

we are fortunate to have this legacy of beautiful expression

look forward to more creative work from you

Dear all, thank you.

Poetry, comes from the most intimate and vulnerable part of you. Thus for me it is the hardest to share. I am so thankful for your encouraging comments . And I hope you will be this forgiving in future also.

Shukriya.
